Hi,

greets to all !

Can't get my RAM to run at any pre-loaded XMPs. The best I get is 800 Mhz.

Configuration:

AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition

2x 8GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3-17057
Patriot Memory (PDP Systems) 2133 CL11 Series, yr: 2112
XMP: 1.50V,

Current settings:

https://dropfile.to/78RUWoa

MB: Asus M5A99X R 2.0

No overclock applied.

Question:

Is the CPU somehow limiting the RAM capabilities and would for example FX-8370 allow me to squeeze all from the memory ?

Cheers!

Solution
8370 would be a toss up at 2133 I'd expect 1866 to work for sure on it. Your 800 is actually 1600. Make sure your board specifically supports an 8370 before considering the upgrade.
