Hello everyone, I am a bit new to the toms hardware form and I am happy to be apart of it now! I have been having an issue with my new gaming PC that is basically a pain in the butt. After I installed most of my drivers for the motherboard, Intel lab, and some other drivers that I will probably specify a little later, I tried to install my graphics driver from the Nvidia and it didn't work. I have two GTX 1080's running in a salon and I tried to download the latest driver from the website. After I did so and it downloaded, it was saying searching for compatibility and then abruptly it said an error and it was not compatible with this version of Windows. I was very confused because I fought that windows 10 home 64-bit would be very compatible with the driver. I've never experienced a problem like this and I would really love some support to try and get it to work. I just build it, so I'm really hoping to get it up and running soon.

Solution
your video card will continue to output to the monitor without drivers, all video cards will access basic generic video drivers so that you can see the screen. but you will not be able to run advanced gpu features, including gaming, without proper geforce drivers from nvidia.

Can you check in the device manager if the display adapters are recognized ? Download display driver uninstaller (DDU) and it will tell you what to do. (To completely remove gpu's drivers) and then go to Nvidia's website and download the latest driver for your Gpu. Also, are there any Nvidia services running in the background? Is there any Antivirus running? If yes, disable it and disable firewall and try.

Thanks I appreciate it, I will immediately try this once I get home from work. After I use DDU should I get an adapter if my motherboard doesn't support HDMI and I don't have a VGA cable?

You might want to make sure that you have the latest updates from windows update. I had this problem before. Once I downloaded the windows update I never had this error before. I hope this helps
