Hi, I'm changing my pc and I'd like to have some suggestion.

I have built a base configuration that I'd like to fix it with your suggestions. Prices are in euros:

  • memory D4 2666 16GB C15 Corsair Dom kit 160,24€

    CPU Intel Socket 1151 i7-6700k Ci7 Box (4GHz) 324,99€

    MB Intel 1151 GBT B150M-D3H 81,05€

PSU be quiet! BN144 schwarz, 2x PCIe, Bulk [System Power 7 500W, Netzteil] 54,27€

Aerocool Mechatron Case Middle Tower Black-Steel Edition 82,87€

As you can see I don't want any hard disk (i'll get an ssd later to be put by side to my 3 sata disks that i'll use in the meantime) and a graphic card (i'll get one later, a high end one, probably nvidia).

Now the use I want to for this configuration.
I'm a software developer and I like to develop a lot of personal projects, cg included. For work I develop games but I like to develop renderer too. I'd like to do some games sometimes.
My favourite OSes are GNU/Linux based, but I'll probably use windows too.

I can change almost everything from the configuration I proposed, but for experience I know I don't want anything less than 16GB of RAM.

My budget is in euros, about 700, but for the ones that doesn't use this currency, it's ok to have a pc with a price similar to the one I proposed.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to overclock. You are going to need a motherboard with a Z170 or Z270 chipset. Preferably with M.2 and USB 3.1 for expansion capability and possibly SLI support. If you want good built in audio look at one with a Realtek ALC1150 audio chipset.

The i7-6700K does not come with a stock cooler. You will need one. A Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a great budget unit with a lot of overclocking capability. It comes with thermal paste.

If you want some headroom for the PSU. Look at a 650W unit. Especially if you want a high end GPU and extra power for overclocking.
