So I spilled water on top of and inside my pc. I saw a poof of smoke and right away I pulled the plug and let it dry. It works fine and I have been using it for about a year now, however I use to overclock my GPU and my CPU from 3.4 to 4.0 with ease and now I can not. When I try to my PC shuts down and usually I have to do a CMOS reset. (I have tried tweaking voltage slightly up and down and spent a lot of time in the BIOS toying with the NB) I know I messed something up but have had a hard time figuring out what that was. My first thought is my PSU but on the other hand it could be my CPU or MOBO. But, I don't think CPUs or MOBOs will cause a PC to just turn off and not be able to be turned on unless it is a heat or voltage issue and my hardware is not overheating. So I do think it is my PSU My hardware is as follows
Gigabyte MOBO Ga-970a-Ud3--
AMD Phenom II x4 965(with heatsink) --
Ripjaw 8gb (2x4gb) RAM--
CS600m PSU--
Radeon 7850 windforce GPU--
and 5 hard drives. Like I said when I have a normal clock it seems to be ok because I run games that push the machine hard but still a prime95 stress test will power the machine off and make it reboot. Should I just replace the power unit or does it sound like it could be the CPU or MOBO? (No more water next the the PC!) PLEASE HELP I NEED THIS PC FOR WORK!

I would think the motherboard, but thats just a guess, if it was the power supply i think you would have random issues while playing games etc, i think when you overclock something on the mobo isnt liking the voltage
but im just guessing

So voltage will make a PC fully shut down. I thought that voltage typically made the system lock up but not turn off. You are probably right though. Since the GPU and CPU are both affected then It has to be either the MOBO or PSU. Does anyone know if I can hook a multi meter up to pins on the PSU and know for sure.
