Help with my processor

Hello. i wasn't sure what i should do so i thought this would be the best place to ask. anyways i have a Gateway DX4370G-UW10 - A series AMD A6-3620 2.2 GHz - 6 GB - 1 TB. I recently just purchased a 4 GB GTX 1050Ti to upgrade my computer and now i need a processor upgrade. Now im not sure exactly what a processor is besides what it does. Would i have to get a new motherboard (or whatever i need) compatible with my computer model? Any input would be great thanks for taking the time to read.

If that PC is intended for gaming then go for Intel.
Or you can wait until AMD Ryzen gets released, but that may be still months to wait.

BTW - what's the budget for your upgrades?

If you want to bring it up to 2017 you will need to update the mobo/ram/ and cpu.

how would i go about doing that. I dont mind spending a good bit money obviously but im not trying to spend a check.

Any chance you could help me pick out a mobo an processor thatre compatble. Preferably a FM+3 and at least 3.5 GHz. And would i be able to still use my computer case with my hard drive and my power supply?
