My PC config:-
CPU - Amd Athlon II X2 270
MOBO - Gigabyte ga78lmt-s2
RAM - 1333Mhz DDR3 4GBx2 (just installed one)
Graphics - MSI nvidia GTX 750 Ti (just replaced zotac GT520)
PSU - Antec 650W (just replaced Mora 500w)
Cabinet - Mora normal with no fans

After replacing the GPU, games are started lagging and stuttering on my PC. I checked the resources at that time, Ram was sufficient but CPU is 100% utilized constantly. When I was having my old GPU the games didnt lag but graphics were poor. Now graphics are very good but system started lagging. Somebody told me to replace the PSU so I replaced it with Antec 650W and installed one 4gb mem stick. but now after spending a lot on this I'm facing the same issue as my CPU is utilizing 100%. After prolonged gaming when I touch my cabinet it's very hot.

Now I'm thinking of overclocking the cpu on this machine but I dont know how. Is this the right thought? Please suggest as I dont want to spend more on cpu and mobo at this time as I've already spent a lot on other parts.

And Please suggest the steps to do this.

Solution
Looking at your motherboard would i stick with the FX 6300,the FX 8300 is also possible but is not as fast although it has mores cores. In games will the extra speed be more beneficial. To make sure it can run highest turbo speed would getting a better cpu cooler be more of use.

Sorry, I'm new to this forum, I dont know the right method for replying.

The temp at that time goes to 56 deg at max.
As soon as I stops the game the temp drops quickly.

My guess is your processor cannot keep up with the GPU, you need to lower your settings as Vic 40 mentioned. You can try overclocking but even then you aren't going to get much more out of that CPU even if it is possible to do.

What game are you playing and at what video settings?

100% CPU utilization points to a CPU bottleneck.
After a quick search of your CPU, I found out that it's a dual core, and those are really not great for gaming.
If you can afford it, grab a quad core processor. That should help you a lot. In fact here's a quad core under $100 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113326

If you really can't afford a new CPU, yes, go to overclocking. Make sure you have a good cooler, though, if you do end up overclocking.

yes I was also thinking the same as CPU bottleneck.

If I install a Aftermarket CPU cooler then will it work?
I don't have a gaming cabinet too. What are your opinions?

yaa.. thanx
I'll be buying a good cpu with Mobo which is future proof to some extent. AMd FX 6300 is nice too but not future proof. I'll be switching to Intel.

I'm getting used FX6300 cpu and msi 970a-g43 mobo with warranty from a friend in half the price.
Is it worth purchasing to solve the lagging issue in games?
Is it future proof for next 3-4 years for playing games on mid settings on my machine?
please suggest..

Via the pcpartpicker found this,

I don't expect them to be high quality and last very long.So look at them and choose for yourself, look at the specs, read some customer reviews or look them up for maybe some other reviews.

I thing i want to ask. I replaced my PSU to Antec VP650P from MORA 500w(local brand). After replacement my game starts lagging a lot. so much lagging that I have to delete the game without playing it but before (with my previous PSU) the games were not lagging this much. Previously the cpu temp goes to 56 deg max but no lagging, now the temp rises to 66 deg max with lots of lagging. Is this the problem of PSU? Did I take the wrong decision in replacing my running PSU? Please help.
