So recently I have been having a problem only when I am playing games online. Basically what happens is the game will freeze for a about 5 seconds and then will go back to normal, but it seems to happen quite a lot. I have ran cinebench, Heaven Benchmark. I have even open the PC up and used compressed air to clean it all out. I have also ran Burnin Test and no errors have come up. I have installed all the latest drivers for the GPU. Basically I am at a lost, although part of me is thinking it is to do with heat, but I dont think it is the GPU, I am leaning more towards the CPU, could it be I need to replace the thermal paste?

My system:

CPU: i5-6600k
Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming
GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB STRIX
CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Memory: Kingston FURY 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory
Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Solution
It most commonly is the CPU overheating issue, yes. Check your CPU temps while gaming. They should not exceed 90C in any case. If this is the case, you will have to clean the heatsink, remove the cooler, replace thermal paste, and even possibly get a better cooler overall if that doesn't help much.

Is there a better cooler than the one that I have got? Which one/ones would you recommend?
