Hi all, I just built a new pc and am not getting any display. The pc powers on, does not output any display whatsoever, then restarts and stays on indefinitely while still not providing any display at all.

The specs are as follows:
Processor: Intel Core i3-7100
Motherboard: Asrock H110M-DGS
Memory: 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4-2400 CL16
PSU: Corsair VS450
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GT640 (but I tried the build with and without the GPU, same result)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.

Any ideas what the problem could be? Are any of my parts incompatible with each other?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you need to use a compatible CPU to flash the latest BIOS, and then install that i3 7100. It should work then.

The options you have:

- borrow a Skylake CPU from a friend and use it just to flash BIOS, then swap CPUs
- buy the cheapest Skylake CPU you can find, use it to flash BIOS, sell it later (Celeron G3900, for example). You cannot lose much.
- sell your mobo and get the one with 200 series chipset

This is also what I suspect and what my retailer told me. I checked on the website of the manufacturer and it says that the BIOS that supports my CPU was only released a few days ago. So my motherboard obviously does not have it, but I have no idea how to install these BIOS (if that's the issue) considering I have no display at all and can't enter the bios to install a new one. This is my first experience with Skylake and Kaby Lake

You would need a compatible cpu and bios on the motherboard to POST and boot. As of now, you can either find/get a Skylake cpu to post and update the bios or return it and get one that is compatible out of the box (H270 or B250).
