i am using ddr3l ram model lap. i just want to install 2gb ram. can i use ddr3 1600 mhz model instead of ddr3l 1600mhz

Depends on notebook specification, you did not post model brand or anything. If it is designed for ddr3l specifically then the answer is no, ddr3l works on 1.35v while ddr3 works on 1.5v

In addition to this comment, not only it might not work properly, it may also damage your mobo or CPU as well.
