Hello, I just put together my first PC, I followed some instructions on youtube and online and had some problems getting a display so i checked the troubleshooting thread which led me to putting together the computer piece by piece and determined that the GPU was the thing giving me problems.

CPU: i7 6700k
GPU: EVGA GeForce 1070 FTW
MOBO: MSI Z170A
PSU: EVGA 650 GQ
HDD: 1TB WD
SSD: 250GB Samsung
RAM: 2x G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB

Things I Have Already Tried:
-I went into the BIOS and made sure the graphics boot from PEG or PCIE which it does. it said PEG.
-I have tried disabling the Integrated Graphics from the Device Manager as well and that did not work.
-A lot of other people mentioned downloading drivers but when i go to the NVIDIA website to download the drivers it says it cant find the hardware, obviously, since it isn't connected. If it was connected i would get literally nothing.
-Plugging the HDMI chord into the MOBO without the GPU gives me a display.
-Plugging the HDMI chord in either the MOBO or the GPU when it is installed gives me no display.

I would greatly appreciate any help from the community.

Yes. Uninstall it and connect your display to your motherboard display input instead.

Sounds like you need to install the drivers. Go here> http://www.evga.com/support/download/

You need to select the 10 series family, then your OS and submit. You'll want to download and then install the drivers. Once that is done, you can plug in to your GPU and try it again.
