Just upgraded my pc, but I feel like its not performing optimally.

Specs:
1060 STRIX OC 6gb

i5 6600k

msi z170a pc mate

32gb 2100 mhz

I get fps drops in csgo, not even 300 fps stable in css either.

Cant use the cd I got with my mobo either because I dont have a "dvd player".

Solution
Lag spikes could be any number of things.

First thing I'd do is find out why the system only works with one RAM module installed. If the motherboard is faulty, it could be the LAN module is faulty as well. If the CPU is installed incorrectly, that may be the cause as well. It may be that you just need to restart your router or uninstall and reinstall the LAN drivers.

Your best bet would be to tear it all down, inspect your components and then put it back together with another fresh install and update of Windows.

No. You will need an OS disk. Provided you have a valid product key, you can download the operating system ISO from Microsoft using their Media Creation Tool Page.

You'll can download the latest drivers from the MSI Support Page

Going from a P55 chipset to the Z170 chipset, I would probably recommend a clean install of the OS anyway.

What specific error message are you getting when you attempt to install the VGA driver? Take a screen shot of the error message and post it here, using an image sharing site like imgur.com

And that's the error message you get when you try to install the On-Board VGA driver that you downloaded from the MSI support site I linked above? If so, I don't know, but it shouldn't be that important given you're running off of the GTX 1060.

I suppose I should ask for clarification as to why you feel your system is not performing as it should. Detail what you are expecting and what you are getting.

Just as a last ditch effort, what is your memory configuration? 2x16GB or 4x8GB? What happens if you take out half your RAM (just run off of 16GB)?

Yes, you can reinstall windows without a disk. As long as you have a key you can use, you can download windows on to a USB stick and boot from it.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that it only works with 1 stick, (But I have read its either bent pins or overtighten cooler). I'm playing h1z1 atm. getting around 100 fps on medium/high

Sounds like it's working just fine. What were you expecting to get?
