Hi all,

Here's my system:

Asrock z77 Extreme Pro 4
i5 3570k [Default clock - OC'ing soon]
550w Gaming PSU
8gb DDR3 G Skill 1600mhz
MSI GTX 1060 3gb
1 TB HDD
1TB SSHD

I seem to be getting lag spikes while running a game called Rust when others with a similar setup are running it smooth.

Is there anything you guys think may be the problem here?

Thanks!

My best advice would be to go download MSI Afterburner, figure out how to configure the On Screen Display, then just play the game for a while and keep your eye on the usage for the RAM, CPU and GPU when the lag spikes occur. That should give you some hint to what component is causing the problem. (keep your eye out for the component that has the highest % usage)

Also, are you running everything maxed out? On 1080p?
Try running the game on the lowest settings possible. If you still get lag spikes, I'm gonna bet there's some software or something running in the background.

That's what I thought?

Yet I'm getting some severe lag spikes dropping to 1fps every now and again. I've just bought the GTX 1060 and I'm running Rust at 60 - 80 fps. But still getting these ridiculous lag spikes that are absolutely game-breaking :(
