Looking at purchasing an EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC, can anyone tell me if this is compatible with my old Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor? With the high refresh rate of this card, will it still perform well on my monitor?

Should have no issues there mate, except that you will have to use a DVI cable. No VGA available and converters will not work.
The card will "adapt" to the monitor. All of that is handled by the display drivers anyway.
