Hello everybody, so I am going to be stating some questions I have about GTA 5. If you can help with one or all of them I will greatly appreciate it.

1. Does your monitor matter? - I have a sony monitor which is supposed to be used for playstation 4. It has 60 hz refresh rate and a 1920x1080p resolution. Do I need a better monitor so my screen doesnt tear?

2. Should I buy an SSD? - I never knew when buying my PC that these mattered this much. Should I buy one?

3. Should I overlclock my CPU or other components? - I have a GTX 1070 and an i5 6600k. Should I overclock either of them?

4.

My graphics are good, but every time im flying in the air or am driving my screen tears and it seems like my whole PC is bottlenecking.I would love to have good graphics, but I enjoy good performance.
Is there anyway to fix this?

5. Any suggestions to improve my graphics? - Sorry I am a total noob to getting good FPS while achieving nice graphics.

6. Do settings in your control panel/ graphics card settings matter? - Do I need to optimize my computer at all before I start gaming because I have no idea what to do...

Thankyou for reading this because I am totally lost and could not find these answers anywhere :(

The ideal solution would be a 1440p G-Sync monitor. G-sync uses adaptive refresh rates which in an eggshell means that will help with tearing. Your monitor is locked at 60Hz. The G-sync monitor can adapt to the 1070's performance.

The first monitor should take care of the issue just fine. I'm saying if you love the eye candy and want to...

1 Yes. Higher resolutions are harder to run. 1080 is not known as a high resolution though so you will be find with a 1070.

2. SSD's decrease loading times a significant amount but other than that there isn't much point.

3. Only overclock if you need more performance. If you are satisfied with what your pc can do then there is no reason to put extra stress on the components.

4. I dont think you linked settings.

5. To be honest it is very hard to do this in gtav. I have been playing gtav for a year on pc and i still tweak my graphics every couple weeks. Just search a video for that one.

6. GTAV is a pretty well made game overall so there shouldnt be any crazy setting changing needed.

Yes. That monitor can be used for a PC as well. Tearing involves the GPU sending information to the TV/monitor faster than it can process. that TV is capable of handling 60FPS. When you exceed that you are sending too much information to your monitor. Look into your in game Graphics Options. See Vsync? Enabling that caps your FPS(Frames Per Second) to the refresh rate of your monitor. Your TV is the bottleneck, not your PC.

2. Should I buy an SSD? - I never knew when buying my PC that these mattered this much. Should I buy one?

You can. At this point it would seem like your system is performing VERY well. If you WANT to migrate your OS to the SSD and load all your games on there you can. Necessary? Not really. It will reduce your game load times. It will speed up WIndows. It will not help FPS at all. IMO your PC isn't broke so I wouldn't fix it. 500GB Samsung 850 Evo or the 250GB model.

3. Should I overlclock my CPU or other components? - I have a GTX 1070 and an i5 6600k. Should I overclock either of them?

IDK what that means. I see a reverse bonk incompatible and a 404 page.
No. Your TV is already overwhelmed. OCing will make it worse.

But a 144Hz TV or monitor.

LOL That is a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE question. You can go to your power options and set it to High performance. Don't see that? Look below balanced and click show hidden profiles(or something like that). You can go to Nvidia Control Panel and click on 3D settings. Make sure Prefer Maximum Performance is selected next to Power Management. You can stop all unnecessary background progrmas BUT you have a high end system. It should be able to handle some weight. Trimming the fat might help but helps more with budget builds.

PLEASE don't spoon feed us. We can handle the entire steak. We prefer a complete parts list. Seeing a CPU and GPU does not a computer make. Complete includes the PSU's COMPLETE make and model number.

Thanks a lot I will look into updating my monitor. Also I updated my settings links.

Do you have any recommendations for a monitor I should get? I don't want to over-spend

The first monitor should take care of the issue just fine. I'm saying if you love the eye candy and want to use the 1070 to it's fullest the 1440P Gsync or 144Hz monitor would be another option but those can get too pricey.
