Would a Xeon W3530 bottleneck a Geforce GTX 780 Ti

My current build consists of an
Asus P6T WS Pro motherboard,
a Xeon W3530 Processor,
a Quadro FX 1800 GPU,

I want to make this more suited for gaming (pretty much to run H1Z1 on high settings)
So I was going to buy the 780 Ti, I've been told by friends it doesn't, but would it bottleneck with my current CPU??
And if so, what CPU's would be an option for me? My Motherboard has a LG1366 Socket, so I was looking at i7-930 - i7-970

Between the 930 and 970, what could and couldn't handle the GPU?

Thanks

** I don't mind having to buy a new CPU, but I don't want to get rid of this PC until I get to University**

Yeah, the slow-ish quad core will bottleneck the GTX 780 Ti at times in some games. Not that you won't get great performance from it, just that you won't get max performance from it.
The GTX 780Ti is in about the same gaming class as my GTX 1060 3GB and my RX-470 4GB. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

...For comparison, I have a Xeon W3670 6-core (3.2GHz) that is right at its limit with either of those two cards. In a few games the CPU hits 100% usage before the GPU is able to max out. But most games the GPU can reach 100% usage w/o a problem.
I would look for a quad core or 6-core that is at least that fast (3.2GHz) if you want to get the most out of the GTX 780 Ti. Here is the CPU support list for your board: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6T_WS_Professional/HelpDesk_CPU/

Thanks for the reply. so would a

Quad-Core Intel Xeon X5687(3.60 GHz)

be a good option? I was comparing, and its better thank the W3670, and better thank the i7 965 extreme series (and alot cheaper too!)

so would that be good ? without bottlenecking?

The i7-970 and X5687 will perform about the same. Depends what you can find and at what price.

Can say that X5687 is a good option. It's what I am using in the Dell t3500 workstation. Nice performance boost from the W3565 it came with.

Glad to help.

Looked at page for your motherboard for confirmation. It is X5687 compatible. Be sure to install latest BIOS. Typo on that page. X5687 is essentially 4 core version of the 6 core X5690.
