Need help to choose a adsl modem/router ***

hi guys , im going to buy a new router since my old one died
(currently using an old fossilized TD 8811)

im going to buy one of these :

TP-LINK TD-W8961N 300Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+

or D-Link DSL-2740U Wireless N300 ADSL2+

or Linksys E1700 Wireless (if its really worth it cuz price is higher)

i would go for something else but unfortunately my budget is low and anything else is hard to find were i live and isp's sometimes have problems with other brands
.........................................................................
only thing i care about is online gaming and ping
(i myself will be playing via ethernet cable and pc but need the wifi for phone and laptop)

my line has a little noise so i want something that can work under that condition and be stable

also something stable while someone else is downloading via wifi
(these both have qos and i thinks thats what i need so should be fine right?)

the other thing i really need is to have access to my external hdd via wifi i have a HDD usb external drive and i want to have access to it from my laptop and phone
(Seagate Backup Plus Slim)
thank you in advance :)

in the dlink, not sure, perhaps yes, you need to check on their site, most times if you can, you can't use the modem so is not a good idea to use that

same for the tplink

linksys, this one

http://www.linksys.com/gb/p/P-X1000/

but as most linksys, doesn't have external antennas so wifi coverage must be limited and remember that while linksys is expensive and has a good reputation, amazon has lots of linksys models with 1 star, basically a refurbished or firesale of some models from them, reported as weak signal or dropping connections like crazy

the same applies for dlink and tplink, dlink especially

so if you have a bad surprise with weak signal, well, all brands have that one model that no one liked, even netgerar, buffalo, apple...

tplink is the cheapest of all, followed close by dlink

that linksys, seems to be a bit weak, no external antennas

external antennas are a bit better, especially when you can change them but most cheap modems won't come with those anymore

if you plan to game, ethernet adapter is 10 times better, always

if the router will not be at least, 10 meters close to the device, you will have signal and ping problems

dlink or linksys, but try to get a bit better models and keep the router as enar as possible, wifi is ideal with those routers only for smartphones and a smart tv perhaps, online video, other than that, ethernet from that router to the pc or the console if you use one

then, if you only going to load it with that, tplink or dlink is fine, don't expect miracles in speed and signal coverage from those two, neither 3000mbps, probably 100 maximum

the dlink looks exactly to my cheap dlink dir 615, the connectors, well, they keep disconnecting themselves. i had to use ductape!

perhaps tplink uses better connectors, linksys surely does use better ones

but i have one question, why do you select two modem/router and the linksys

the linksys is a router, the other two are adsl modems with a router

from both brads there is the same model but without the modem, that being adsl, is a pita!

are you sure that your internet service provider will let you buy one of those modems and use it/configure it?

some won't let you register the new modem in their network

i still recommend you to get your own router and keep using their router modem just as modem and ask them to disable the wifi on their router and just use the router you purchase with the wifi network you want
