Okay, so I bought this new CPU, AMD APU A10-7860k, It is compatible with my motherboard (A58M-E33). The cpu has my games down to 10-20 fps, plus screen tearing. I installed the new drivers, and never changed the graphics card, so it's the same. I bought some thermal paste, put my old one back in, it was fine. So i tried putting the new one back in and boom, slow again (I did apply the correct amount of thermal paste) I am very confused what is going on, please help, thanks.

In BIOS, "AMD A10-7860K Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G
Currect CPU freq. 3.60ghz.

Sorry, i've never built or upgraded a pc, im fairly new. How do i check if all 4 are enabled or the speed? and it's 38C in BIOS currently. Also don't know how to check cpu temps not in BIOS. If you could let me know it'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't know what to do, I just need a solution. I don't think my cpu is overheated, i have APU so it's a gpu and cpu combined in one chip, I installed the correct drivers, do i need to take out my old gpu or?

You can't guess it's overheating or not. You have to monitor it. Hwinfo is probably easier to use so go that way. I'm trying to get to a solution but I can't identify the problem for you as I'm not there all anyone can do is walk you through troubleshooting steps until we hit on an issue.

I FOUND THE PROBLEM IM SO DUMB. Okay, so my processor is quad core, but my pc is only registering 1 core. No idea why. I went into advanced boot options to change 1 core to 4, but 4 isnt an option. either is 2-3
