I am willing to change my motherboard and socket and was looking at a i7 7700k but didnt know if that was over kill for bf1 on ultra at 2560x1440p
cpu intel i5 4590

Gpu Gtx 1070

psu evga supernova g2 750
ram 8gb ddr3

motherboard msi h81m-e33

You could drop an i7 47xx into your current motherboard without issues and have 90-95% of the performance of a 7700K with far less cost.

4790K is clocked a hair higher but you'd probably want to buy a heatsink for it too, it's a lot more power hungry for only a small performance increase:
