I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a new Plextor M8Pe(Y) 128GB SSD. My motherboard seems to be able to see it, but it isn't showing up in Windows Explorer. I created a partition which I can see when attempting to install Windows but I don't have the drivers and am having trouble finding them online (perhaps I'm dumber than I thought). I'm not sure where to go from here so any help is appreciated!

Current OS: Windows 10
MOBO: ASUS M9A97
SSD: Plextor M8Pe(Y)

Solution
Windows 7 doesn't support NVMe natively.

If you search Google for "nvme drivers for windows 7", there is an HP PDF in the search results that explains steps you can take to install it. I don't know if I can post a link to a PDF here, as many forums will strip those links, and some even auto-ban for that, due to the vulnerable nature of PDF viewing. This PDF is directly from HP, so it is safe.

However, you will never get maximum performance under Windows 7 because it simply isn't built to take advantage of storage like that. You'll need to use Windows 8 or 10 to get the best performance due to kernel differences. I advise moving up to Windows 10 for this project.
