I am planning to upgrade to i5-4690 and want to reuse my 2X4GB Avexir RAM from an Athlon II x4 640, and in the future I may want to add 2 more sticks of 4GB RAM, is this a good move? Thanks in advance!

Wait what? My avexir ram is DDR3, and this is on an am3+ socket motherboard and I just plan to reuse it which is why I steered clear of Skylake options and opted for Haswell. I just wanted to know if 16gb of ram in dual channel mode is a good move for me in the future.

Yup just as long as you install 64 bit. I use 32 gb myself
i dont think people who can afford medium to high end rigs run 32 bit OS's anyways
thanks for your inputs man! i just want to know if this is a good move because more likely this will stress the memory controller even more with more lanes handed to it
