So I've been trying my hand at overclocking and I've been running into what I'm sure is a simple oversight on my part. First, some additional specs:
MOBO: GA-MA78GM-US2H rev (1.0)
Bios Ver: F9D
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T temps steady @
PSU: DPS-460DB-3 A (460Watt)
Mem: Dual channel unganged DDR2 8GB
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series 1GB
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

So without making any changes the system runs clean, no issues all 6 cores working fine @ ~3.2-3.6
Through CPUZ and Easytune6 I see the multiplier is usually @ 16/18
voltage @ 1.47 max
Temps a steady 40-45 tops under load
I'm interested in tweaking a bit to see what I can max out at and from what I understand in the bit of searching ive done on the machine I have, there's a decent amount of room for upping the speeds.
Now the issue I'm running into is when I start overclocking by upping the cpu the system BSoD's, reboots, then when I check out the task manager/CPUZ I get one core thats been overclocked and the rest aren't even visible/recognized. Additionally the only fix I've found to reverting the system to see all 6 cores again is to restart, interrupt the windows load screen by hard reset, and let windows repair do its thing.

My question is, what am I missing here?
Also, if theres anyone around willing to take me through the steps of a first succesful overclock I'd greatly appreciate it as my own attempts have apparently been fruitless.
