I wish I could talk with someone for a few mins. This has been a nightmare for me and you could probably really help me. .My 1tb D drive was filled with all games, origin, uplay, steam so I bought this. I figured I didn't need nothing on D drive so I formatted it. Seagate shows 2x in my list of drives and the blue lightkeeps flashing. Any chance u could email me? I just got my pc back from a gpu rma. It's running great but I wanted to put nothing but games on the drive, Use the ssd for the most important things then D: would be a variety. Family photos, movies, misc things. But since I just got this in Nov there really wasn't a lot of other stuff but games on it. I tried to figure out the whole drag n drop thing n got fed up so I formatted D: and figured I'd just start over w an empty D: and install Steam, origin and Uplay on Seagate. Is this terribly wrong? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there nednerbish,

Well, it's not really clear what the actual issue is.
As far as I can understand, you wonder whether you can install steam on your external. I believe you can try that out. Of course, you will get slower loading times, compared to an internal HDD connected through SATA.

Cheers,

Just checking that just reformatting the D: drive then installing steam on 2tb Ex hdd that I didn't screw the pooch by just formatting my D: drive to delete everything and then just going through the pain of reinstalling steam again and all of the games on seagate. I did see there were other ways to do this but I'm def not a computer whiz.and they seemed a little to complex or confusing for me. This external drive is the newest Seagate and is 3.0 and so are all of my ports. I read It wont effect it too much.. Thanks for the response!
