Motherboard replacement suggestions

Hello

My specs are :


CPU: i7 4790k
old MOBO: ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA VII
RAM: 32 4x8GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator 2133mhz
GPU: 2x GTX 980ti hydro copper

My old MOBO's second PCIE slot stopped detecting my second GPU after shipping my PC.
If there is any MOBO suggestions of motherboards that are close to this mobo even if it doesnt a waterblock fixed onto it, would like for it to have an on-board audio support of 7.1 surround sound if possible.

I have tried everything, am 100% sure its a MOBO slot problem and I cant RMA it. so my only option is to get a new MOBO since without one, my second card is obsolete.

I could't find a store that sells the VII version, it seems that its not sold anymore and I think I would like to go for a non watercooled MOBO but a solid MOBO that doesnt have any gimmicks

I've been looking at MSI's Z97-Gaming 5 and seen quite a lot of positive reviews

do you have any experience with MSI motherboards?
