I salvaged the parts of my Acer Aspire E3 112p and I used the RAM from it to put it in my current laptop (Acer Aspire E5 574G) and it doesn't detect the RAM. I know that the motherboard supports 16gb of RAM and I know that it is secured properly (btw the salvaged RAM is from samsung and is 4gb). Can someone please help me?

The memory you are trying to use is not compatible with the new laptop.
The older system uses DDR3 RAM whereas your new one uses DDR3L (low voltage) RAM. You cannot mix and match those and should only use DDR3L sticks in the new system.

. I took out the RAM and re-installed it and it worked perfectly! I currently have 12gb of RAM and the 4gb isn't DDR3L, its normal DDR3. Btw thanks for the quick reply!TRENDING THREADS
