Are seagate laptop hard drives durable?

No matter the brand, a mechanical drive could fail in a day or last for 10 years. This is why, you should always back up your data.
Most of the users would give you some suggestions based on a single HDD failure/non failure experience. So, I doubt that somebody would give you the correct answer to that question.
The warranty period could somehow indicate the durability of a given product. (not just drives) So, if the HDD falls within your budged and has longer warranty, you can go with that one.

Last time I bought one was in the 90s when I got 2 DOA on new drivers... I suggest Western Digital, Blue or Black series (longer warranty) have yet to see one fail.
