Hello everyone! My new rig (Asus X99 Deluxe II / Intel 6850K) is overclocked to 4.4 ghz @ 1.325 volts. I have the multiplier set to 44 and the BCLK set to 100. I run it pretty much 24/7 at full load, but it is cooled with a Kraken X61 and temps never get above 61C (hottest core, #3), though they typically average 53C. The machine is stable, running for the last 3 weeks without downtime, but the clock speed fluctuates from 3500 MHZ to 4600 MHZ. The multiplier stays solid as a rock, but the BCLK doesn't stay at 100, which is where it is set in the Bios. It fluctuates from 97.xx to 102.xx. Again, it doesn't crash, but I would like it to stay solid at 4400 MHZ. Does anyone know what is causing this, and how I might get it to stop? Thanks in advance for any help!

Solution
Put simply.

Disable Intel speed stepping in the bios of your motherboard.
If the board is new you may have to select the advanced bios setup options in order to disable the option of it in the bios Jay.

The speed step feature is what the board uses to conserve power consumption when your system is detected with very little activity or interaction by your self.

Also in windows 10 ect, go to the power plan settings for the motherboard.
And select the High performance profile, apply it then click ok.

After you have done this restart the system and see if the Bclk fluctuation has stopped.
The Cpu will then stay at a fixed speed of 4.4 Ghz you require all of the time ok Jay.
