hi ,
im using 4gb Kingston hyperx ddr3 2x2gb (KHX1600C9D3K2/4G) on my MSI X38 Diamond
i wanted an upgrade to 8 GB which is the maximum capacity of my motherboard.
could not find same rams to integrate 8gb
so i tried some single 8GB rams and they are not working :??: any
WHAT can i try to get a maximum 8gb performance on my x38 motherboard ?

this is my MB : https://msi.com/Motherboard/X38_Diamond.html#hero-specification
i want a working 8 GB solution :??:

Solution
Hello... YES... your MB chipset will be Max'd at 8gb then, with 2GB capacity per slot... Modern i3-i7's MB's will allow 8gb sticks per slot. Typically you might need to slightly raise the BIO's Ram voltage for 4x2gb's use too... if you are have a problem getting them all to work together B )

interesting thing is MSI Customer Service tells me that i can use two 4GB sticks :??::??:

Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern, the MB supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 DRAM,8GB max DRAM.Thus we suggest you install 4*2GB or 2*4GB rams on it.And we suspect there is any compatibility issue between the MB and the ram.But sorry to say that the BIOS you installed is the latest one for this MB.And we still suggest you select rams referring to the test report. Thanks!
