Hey guys,

I know this has been asked several times but I just wanted to make sure in my case.

So basically I want to transfer my hard drive to his PC which I will be buying. Here are the specs (sorry they do not have the models for all parts):
970
I5 water-cooled
8gb ram
Mini itx mobo with wifi and BT
1tb HD
256g SSD
500w psu
Blu ray drive

I want to transfer my hard drive (1.5tb) from my PC to his as it has lots of games, etc. that I dont want to reinstall.
My hard drive does not have os installed on it, as it is OEM.
The PC will NOT have an os installed so should I install the os using OEM or USB onto the ssd, wait for it to boot up etc. Then transfer my hard drive? Because I do not want to lose any data.

Thanks for your help guys!

EDIT: his hard drive will not be in the pc

you can transfer the hard drive. games and all other programs will have to be reinstalled. you will be able to access documents and pictures.

you can install the OS any way you like, OEM CD or USB, does not matter.
Yes, install OS on SSD first, make sure everything works, then connect old HDD to access your old files.

Little bit confusing here.
Which drive is ending up in which PC?

If his PC has no drive and no OS...the OS on the drive you're giving him won't work.
That would need a reinstall of the OS. And of course, it's own license.

Sorry about the confusing, my hard drive is going into the PC, and his hard drive is being taken out. I will purchase windows os then install it onto the ssd, was just wondering if I will lose my data or not when transferring
