I have a budget of 1,587$ and I asked the people over at /r/buildapcforme and I received a few builds but I wanna make sure before spending a huge sum of money to get a lot of opinions. Just to make sure I am getting the best I can. Someone posted this build and I was thinking about going with it but I am not exactly sure.

the power supply shows up as ''purchased''. Do you actually own it?

Also, the build clearly prefers performance over looks. Color scheme wise it won't look great, although the tempered glass is made to look the internal parts stand out more. I would've chosen different parts to actually make the tempered glass more worth it.

Also 1.1TB SSD.... I don't know really, just get a 2TB HDD with a 250GB SSD IMO.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.99 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z270-P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($134.99 @...
It looks like that partpicker list is way under your $1500 budget. Id up the cpu to a 7700k and get 32gb higher bandwidth and capacity memory so you won't have to worry about upgrading anything for 3-5 years. Games are just starting to utilize more than 8gb of system meory. I know 32gb memory seems like a stretch, but my next build is going to have 64gb.

Yea I have the power supply in my current PC and the 250GB Samsung SSD. So would this build be better overall? I want the best bang for my buck. Sure looks are nice and I guess it does help and make the PC look nice considering i'll be spending that amount on it.

Wouldn't an i7 be a bit overkill? I can see 16GB but 32GB does seem a bit much.

Intel i7 is never overkill in 2017, if getting one doesn't mean you have to get a lower end GPU.

Also, GTX 1080 + 2TB HDD > GTX 1070 + 1.1TB SSD .

With the build I provided above you'd have more quality but It's up to you. The G3 550w is a much higher quality power supply aswell and a lot more suitable for overclocking.

Gaming and school work. I might stream and do video editing for fun but not much.

Would you recommend I get that PSU instead of my current one? I knew when I got the Cosair one I currently have it was lower quality hence the price point. What exactly is the difference between the Asus GeForce 1080 and the Nivdia 1080?

Nvidia makes the graphics card, third parties sell Nvidia's graphics card with their own type of cooling design. All GTX cards are made by Nvidia.

Yes I would recommend the G3 550w over the lower end Corsair CX750M, especially if you're overclocking.

From the build above the CPU is an i5 I thought it was supposed to be an i7 I might be wrong, new to building PCs in general that is why I am trying to get some more experienced opinions. Also when I look at the build you provided on PCParts picker it has this warning

"The Phanteks ECLIPSE P400 TEMPERED GLASS ATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 395mm long, but video cards over 280mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX Video Card is 298mm long, some drive bays may not be usable."

Not if you plan to keep your build for the next 3-5 years. What games do you play?

It isn't actually a problem with this case, no worries.

Also do you know of a good mount I can use? My main monitor is 24 inches, then the other 2 are 24 inches and 23 inches.

This is one of the ones i was looking at

Nah I listed an Intel i5 but only if your budget allows it, without problems, do replace it for an Intel i7 or wait for AMD Ryzen processors to release next month.

I don't want to speak for which GPU you should buy now and which one in the future. Just go for the best one right now. I would say that either a FreeSync certified or G-Sync certified monitor is key though nowadays. It'll make your game look butter smooth even if your framerates are inconsistent.

So if an Nvidia G-Sync monitor is out of your price range, FreeSync probably is in your price range. The HP OMEN 32 inch is pretty good, probably great when paired with an R9 FURY?

Alright I am not sure which i7 to replace the i5 with. I might just go with what you posted above.
