If I connect a hard drive with a USB 3.0 port to a router with a USB 3.0 port and the router connects wirelessly to 2 computers--one with USB 3.0 & one with USB 2.0--will the computer with USB 3.0 get USB 3.0 speeds when transferring files to/from the hard drive that's connected to the router?

Thanks!

Solution

To entice you to buy the router.

Just because there is a USB3 port, the vendor is not guaranteeing you USB3 speed. Show me where it says that on the manual.

It should go a little faster via ethernet as already mentioned.

If WiFi is the limiting factor, limiting file transfer speeds to 10-30 MB/s, why even bother putting USB 3.0 ports on routers? Or would I be able to get USB 3.0 speeds if I used an ethernet cable to connect the computer that has USB 3.0 ports to the router?
