My birthday's coming soon, well not very soon, actually in April lol. I'm probably going to get something $150-300-ish, so I wanna know what I should put on my list (link below).

My current build:

Motherboard (Still Shipping) - http://www.frys.com/product/8327837

CPU- AMD FX-4350

GPU (Already Have) - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150766&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-Advanced%20Micro%20Devices-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=5257136&SID=ShopAMD

PSU (Haven't Bought Yet) - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438039

Case- https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144269

I was going to save up for a 1050 Ti but I just realized my motherboard only has one PCIEx16 ports so it might've not been worth it to save for it, as if I wanted a 1060 or 1070, the 1050 Ti would've been just waste unless I get a new motherboard and probably a better PSU too.

This is again really super invalid. I can't imagine you not having some weird agenda against AMD in some way if you believe this. They function atleast as good as Nvidia GPU's, you are not getting something worse if you go with AMD. It'll do everything a weaker Nvidia GPU does but with higher framerates (GTX 1050 Ti vs RX 470). AMD isn't trash like some inevitably assume. They can't sell if their products just malfunction or some shit. I'm not sure where you read these things.

If you would go to Nvidia's subreddit on Reddit they would suggest you to buy a FreeSync monitor and an RX 470 4GB, rather than buy a GTX 1060 3GB. NVidia users and consumers are saying this...

There are better CPU's on the market for the price but I wasn't really sure if you bought the CPU or just got it from somewhere.

This would work though:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD FX-4350 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($0.00)
Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($0.00)
Video Card: Asus Radeon RX 470 4GB STRIX Video Card ($169.99 @ Jet)
Case: DIYPC J180-BL ATX Mid Tower Case ($35.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($46.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $252.95
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Not sure what you'd use the HD 6450 GPU for.

That's a pretty good build, although I already bought a case and I bought the cpu lol. The FX-4350 is the best for me. It was only $90 and the more expensive ones only have more cores. I wouldn't get the GPU you picked though as I could get an MSI gtx 1050 Ti for $150 that has way better specs and is much higher quality.

Actually, the RX 470 really comfortably beats the GTX 1050 Ti. From where did you get the impression the GTX 1050 Ti is better and higher quality? I suppose because of Nvidia's branding? In addition to that, there is no indication showing the GTX 1050 Ti ''is much higher quality'' either, I'm not really sure what that means. We don't suggest junk usually on Tom's Hardware forums, we suggest what's best for your cash.

As two Performance summaries and two gaming benchmarks show, the GTX 1050 Ti is one or tiers below the RX 470. It is said the RX 470 4GB is currently the best price to performance graphics card on the market.

TechPowerUp says that ''relative performance'' is 29% higher for the RX 470. That's a gigantic difference.

Okay maybe, I take the higher quality part back I didn't look at it lol. The reason I said it had better specs was because I remember the 1050 Ti having like 1.3 Ghz and the RX 470 only has .9 Ghz lol.

Clock speed doesn't say much about the chip's architecture and such. There are plenty more values which tell a clearer story about a graphics card's performance than Its clock speed. Although the RX 470 does run quite a bit higher than 0.9 Ghz like you thought it ran at. The RX 470 is also pretty power efficient and runs relatively cool, if that was a question mark aswell.

I'm not sure when you've bought the FX-4350 and if you can still return it, because the Pentium G4560 with 4 threads arrived on the market and it kills any 120 dollar budget CPU and below quite relentlessly. If you have that possibility to return it, do take it. The FX-4350 is very outdated (2011) in comparison whilst the G4560 offers a very wide upgrade path aswell.

The G4560 costs 65-75 dollars, It's a killer.

This would mean you'd have to return the CPU and motherboard, but you'd get a big performance increase if you do.

That's ok, but I'm not sure what I can help with if you're asking for advice after you've already bought parts :p. A GTX 1050 Ti would work fine, but even with an FX-4350 the RX 470 would still perform better. It's up to you really and you know how both GPU's perform pretty much.

You've also stated however that you're willing to stick with a HD 6450, but It's a really poor graphics card. So if you want to play modern games at 1080p you're going to need a better one.

I'd advice getting an RX 470 and saving up for a FreeSync monitor, if you need one soon. Adaptive sync technology is a must in 2017.

If you returned your parts it would've been worth the performance increase you'd be seeing, even if it would take 2 weeks of your time.

Yeah I looked a bit into it. I ran benchmarks yesterday and it was worse than my 540m on my laptop XD. I'll probably get a 1060 3gb as I heard amd gpus seem to have a lag spike every once in a while. I might get a g-sync monitor, but what's so better about g-sync and free-sync? Also, it isn't really about me getting and buying parts, but me getting parts without buying them. Read the title...

Anyways, just get whatever GPU fits in your price range. A new GPU should be in your list.

Adaptive sync technology basically keeps your framerate in sync with your monitor's refresh rate even when your framerate is inconsistent, making it look smoother and tear-free even if you're dropping from 75 fps to ~60 fps frequently. (Example used of a 75Hz Adaptive sync monitor).

Looking at your list:

Power supply purchase - 80 Plus ratings and Energy star certifications are meaningless. It's all about a power supply's build quality and performance. These things you can't see in model names. EVGA W1/B1 are really bad power supplies for example, but from the model name you see ''80 Plus'' and you'll think It's OK.

Look here for a Tier 1/2 power supply, guaranteed to be atleast good:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

Other than that I don't have any suggestions for now, your list looks fine otherwise.
