The correct way to remove a a piece of software is to use the Uninstaller which as an entry in the add and remove programs in control panel. From what you posted you just right clicked on the folder and deleted it?
I use opengl for one of my 1995 game i play called
Freepace 2. I need to install open freespace project
Which allows me to run a freespace. The game use direct3d which is dead now so the project uses opengl.
As for DDU yes use it but it not for opengl just your graphics card drivers which are not the same as opengl.
I suggest this run DDU see what it finds and than i use glary utilities to clean extra crap out of my system. Download that and run it use the all in maintenance. Since you removed the opengl folder the Uninstaller is also deleted. Which i am sure there are parts of it still on the system. Unless i am wrong in how you removed opengl. DDU might detect opengl but it may not.
I also use this Revo Uninstaller which first uses, the application Uninstall program that it will check for left overs and remove them. But this is not really for graphics drivers but useful.
You will need as i said before to download the driver for your graphics card and opengl installer if you do not still have it.
