Samsung 850 Evo Extremely Low Random Reads

I just recently purchased a brand new Samsung 850 Evo and am having problems with low random read speeds. I cannot even get the Samsung Magician 5.0 SSD benchmark to work with the 850 Evo, it just hangs around 10-15% and never finishes. My 2 year old 840 Pro finishes the benchmark fine in 10-20 seconds.

After running CrystalDiskMark the 850 evo manages to beat my 840 pro in every category but one, the Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1). For some reason, I am getting 1.228 MB/s or 299.8 IOPS which seems extremely low.

Similar Results in AS SSD Benchmark where the test takes forever because of how slow the read speed is.

I am running in ACHI mode. Both SSD's are connected by SATA 3. I have followed tons of optimization methods in the hopes of fixing this problem but they do not work. I am not sure what to do. Thanks

If drive is right speed according to other tests, i would just ignore Magicians warnings. It took them long enough to make its drivers work with win 10, I am not amazed its still not working right. Think I stay on version I am using, not that I open it very often - I still haven't even updated the firmware even though I advised you to.. it works, why fix something when it works?

have you checked you have latest firmware on the drive? it updates via magician

I have old version of magician, it sure has changed

My As SSD score, yours seems a little slow...

Maybe the 2nd ssd on a different controller on motherboard? some boards have 2 chipsets supporting sata and the drive may be on the wrong one - just guessing

Thanks for the advice Colif. Magician read it as the most updated firmware. I thought I had the latest Intel RST and chipset drivers from my MSI LiveUpdate utility, but it turns out that wasn't the case. After manually downloading and installing the drivers from my mobo support page, my 850 evo is now reporting normal speeds even though Samsung Magician reports it as outdated.
