in my country the rx 460 4gb is 5 dollar less expensive than the gtx 1050 (2gb)
specs:-
my lcd is 768p 60hz
i5 2400
8 gb ram

which card should i buy? the rx 460 gives 2 gb more vram than gtx 1050 and also it is 5 dollars less expensive.

I would go for the rx 460. This is because it has double the vram, meaning it can handle an increased amount of workloads. Yes, the gtx 1050 has a higher clock speed but that does not compensate enough by a mile for the extra 4 gb of vram. Here are two pictures comparing the two spec by spec:

In all benchmarks I've viewed, with processors that allow for zero bottlenecking, the 2gb 1050 will outperform the RX 460 4gb. Though I understand their VRAM difference is enticing, their architecture is different and utilizes features in games differently. Many games are optimized for NVidia GPUs, and AMD cards are really optimized for DX12 titles.
