Hello

I got a Intel core i3-3250 and a GTX 950 by Gigabyte running on an ASUS P8 H61-M LX2 R 2.0 with 8gb of RAM, and after checking the video card review i noticed that my video card does not perform so well as the ones on the videos i see, so i started to think in the possibility of a bottleneck.

If this is the case, i would like to know if it would be worth to upgrade to something like an i5-3470.

Solution

So double the RAM and with a much faster CPU in a RAM and CPU hungry game. Compare same systems and same settings, see what the differences are then. Try a different version of 3DMark if the latest one won't run (although it should). For your CPU 60 fps in GTA V with most things on high is fine.

First, don't compare things to videos, I don't when when youtube became the thing to go to for benchmarks or performance comparisons, but that is not a good source.

What games, what settings, and what benchmarks scores are you getting? You can't compare things unless you compare the same systems, if the CPU is different, you are likely to see different scores.

Well i get 50-60 fps on GTA V with low textures and everything else on high settings, while i see people getting 60-70 fps with the textures also on high using the same card, although the guy had 16gb of memory and a fancy i7.

I didn't run any benchmarks lately because i can't get 3dmark to work for me.
