Delidded i7 4770K Temps/Issue

So I've delided my i7 4770k and seen load temps dropped by 20-25 degrees. After delid my core0 was running 10 degrees hotter than all my other cores (but better than before delid), so i reopened the cpu and reapplied noctua nt-h1. This fixed my hot core 0. But few hours later core 0 is jumping in temps and reaching throttling. Is this the "pushout" effect of the NT-H1? Its only happening to core 0. Other cores run perfectly cool at 80degrees max. My current overclock is 4.7ghz @1.4 voltage on H110i GT.

After the delid it was perfectly fine, ive been monitoring the temps for a few hours and couple of reboots later core 0 instantly spikes to 100 degrees when on load. But all other cores run cool. Core 0 has a mind of its own :3

Strange, have you checked for any physical damage or misapplied paste?

There is no physical damage to the chip as I could see, the first time I applied paste I saw core 0 running 10degrees hotter than other cores on load, but it wasn't spiking to 100. So I re-applied the thermal compound adding a little bit more this time doing the line method under the IHS and pea method on the IHS. And that fixed the core 0 temp, but around 5-6 hours later core 0 instantly spikes to 100.

That's certainly possible. I really would be careful with how many times you tinker with it, you don't want to cause any more problems than you already have. If I were you, I'd open it again carefully and make sure you apply the paste 100% correctly, so you can rule that out. If it runs fine at first but then after a while start having problems, that would point to your bubble theory.

Okay so I re-opened it once more, everything looked good. There may of been a bit more thermal paste then there should be. So i re-applied the exact same amount I did the first time as the results are the same as the first go. Idle temps avg around 35 degrees. But that core 0 when on load is 10-15 degrees hotter than all my other cores. But its not throttling to 100 degrees straight away. Tomorrow I will monitor the temps again and see if the instant core 0 spike happens again. Is there something with core 0 on haswell chips? Possible memory controller issue?

I've been using aida64, occt and prime 95. And gaming temps I use Battlefield 1

All multi core workloads. Core 0 being the first core generally means that it will get more use than the others as it's the one that's addressed first. If your temps are within a 10 degree range of the others, I wouldn't worry about it.
