I'm sure this question has been asked countless times before but here we go:

So I recently built a budget PC and am now considering to buy a network card. I'm currently using the TP-Link Tl-wn727n USB wireless adapter for my wireless needs. It does it's job well for watching my streams and gaming but not too well when downloading aforementioned games.

Although I might have expected a bit much from a $12 USB adapter, I can't download larger games without leaving it on overnight or bridging the wifi from my laptop (which I did before the USB adapter)
The adapter also has consistency issues (which were to be expected). I have to move my adapter around using the included USB extension cable until I find the 1.7mb/s sweet-spot (cuz ADSL Australia).

As you can imagine, this is very annoying so I'm wondering if I should just get a Pcie network card which I hear are more consistent and sometimes more powerful.

The trip-up is that I don't want to be spending much more on the card than I did on the adapter and I'm not sitting very far away from the router though may have to move across the house...which lead me here.

I have looked at the D-link DWA548, which got few but mixed reviews with its main advantage being the dual antennas.
As well as the TP-Link WN781n which got many positive but anonymous vague reviews.

I'm not the best with summaries...
