Hi. I'm planning on using dual monitor but I don't have the necessary cable for my other monitor (only using VGA and my GPU doesn't have one) Can I still connect it to my on board gfx without issue?

Solution
If your bios allows you to, yes. But chances are you will not be able to. Its one or the other. So look into getting a DVI to VGA adapter or something similar from amazon or newegg

Thanks for the answer. I'm using a MSI z87-g43 gaming board. Do you think it's alright?

Also, I don't think there's a DVI-D to VGA adapter. What I'm eyeing is HDMI to DVI-D

You will have to go in to the bios and check for yourself. unfortunately I do not have every type of bios memorized :p.

Kinda confused as to what exactly you are trying to hook up (what connection on your GPU to what connection on your monitor), but There are adapters for every type of connection. DVI-D to VGA (active and passive), and HDMI to VGA, etc. Search amazon

Question from frncix : "Performance issue on GPU and onboard gfx?"

Hi, I enabled my on board gfx on my bios so I can dual screen but is that okay? what will my computer prioritize the gpu or my onboard? Is it okay in the long run?

I don't have the necessary cables for my monitor that's why I'm using this step.

GPU: MSI GTX 1050ti Gaming X 4GB

One connected to my GPU via HDMI and one connected with VGA on my onboard graphics, I tried it and it's working but I'm not sure if there will be any performance issue or bottleneck if I constantly use it. Thanks for the reply!
