PC Performance Lacking

Hello,

Before I start, I'd like to put a disclaimer about my knowledge of PCs, I'm basically more of a software guy than a hardware guy. Recently, I ran a UserBenchmark on my PC, and although I was told from another site that UserBenchmark was usually used for overclockers. However, I still believe that my performance still isn't up to par. In games like GTAV, especially the online mode, I get stutters the most during driving and after an extended play session (above ~30min). This leads to me believing that this could be, in fact, true about my computer. I would believe, at first, this to be my RAM, as it could be a page filing issue claimed on a thread on NVidia's site, but I want to absolutely make sure. Other problems could be the GPU and HDD.

The UserBenchmark is as follows:
UserBenchmarks: Game 64%, Desk 57%, Work 35%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - 81%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 - 76.9%
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB - 35.9%
RAM: Unknown DDR3 2133 2OZ 2x4GB - 58.2%
MBD: Asrock Z97 Pro4

Bonus Question : In upgrading RAM, what exactly has to be compatible across all parts for best performance?

You have a good rig, and the only 2 things that come to mind are:

- that your CPU might be overheating (check CPU temperature while gaming). If it exceeds 80C while gaming, you will need to clean the heatsink and replace thermal paste. Maybe even the entire cooler, depends on the airflow within the case.

- that the game writes and//or reads a lot to/from hard drive, and you only have a mechanical HDD, not an SSD (which would boost performance a lot in this case).

CPU is not the problem, getting decent temps on 3D Mark Fire Strike and Benchmark Valley.

It's most likely the HDD, but now I've done some tweaking to my components, mainly fixing my ram and OCing my GTX 970. Here's how it looks now;

UserBenchmarks: Game 76%, Desk 66%, Work 42%
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K - 95.1%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 - 87.5%
HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB - 64.7%
RAM: Unknown DDR3 2133 2OZ 2x4GB - 73.6%
MBD: Asrock Z97 Pro4

I have yet to test in a game, though.
