Wireless internet really unstable.

Hello.

So first of all, I got a new ISP to get more stable internet. They hooked me up with a 50/50 mbit connection (fiber-optic).
In the start it was really unstable, even though my PC is about 15-20 meters away from the router and there is only 1 ½ thick door/wall between.
Because of that, I bought an extender (at which I connected a LAN cable from the extender to my PC), I thought it would solve my connectivity problems, but sadly it only solved it a little bit, and it's still unstable like 60% of the time.

I also got a wireless adapter, but I have turned it off (Doesn't make a difference having both on, nor does it help not having the LAN cable in)
My roommate doesn't have the same problem. His connection is strong and stable, even though is 10-15 meters away.

My IPconfig run gave my an average result on 54 ms, but it spikes from anything between 1-194 ms. (0 packet loss)

Any advice what I could do to make my internet more stable? Since it seems to lie with my computer. (My laptop gets a relatively stable connection (tested on speednet))

Thanks in advance.

Have you checked for interfering wifi signlas.

WiFi operates on channels (kind of like old CB radio) where each channel is a different frequency.
If your neighbor is on the same channel as you and has -70 or higher (note the - sign so -60 > -70) then their wifi could be interfering with yours.

You can download a wifi analyzer app for android or iOS and see what channel and power level both yours and your neigbors wifi signals are. Check this at both the router and your room.

You are 15-20m (45-60ft) away from the router and there is only 1 wall between you and the router?

If you have tried your internal laptop wifi card, a different card and a wifi extender then it is not your PC, it is the wifi environment. Either the router is crapy and cant get signal to you, or there is outside interference.

No I haven't done that. How do you do that? Since i'm guessing everyone in my block has the same ISP (It was a package deal), I'm guessing they have the same routers too. It's a standard issued one: icotera i5800.

Yes, more like 35-50 feet from the router (roughly calculated). And there is a small room, between my room and the room where the router is located, but the door is always open, so I'm guessing thats not much of an interference? My computer is right up at the wall, with only a door between (it's as close to the door as it can).

It's a stationary pc, and now both my laptop and stationary PC ranges 1-245 ms. Is there anything I can do?

Many ISP provided routers have no logic to auto switch to an open frequency it very well could be that both of your neighbors are unknowingly running on the exact same channel.

You can download a wifi analyzer app for andorid and/or iOS to "scan" your room.

That room inbetween is still a block so you have 2 walls between you, not one.

Here is your options going from best to "least best"
1) Run ethernet from router into attic/crawlspace and then into your room
2) powerine ethernet adapter to bypass wifi all together
3) Get a new decent AC router with 5ghz band and wifi card on your computer with 5ghz band
4) Change wifi channel in firmware if the problem is neighbors interference
