As of now I have 2x4gb sticks (ddr3 1600mhz) of corsair vengeance pro ram in my newly built gaming pc and I found out trying to play bf1 it would help if I got more. I am planning on buying the same kit from Amazon and I was wondering how to install it into my pc when I get it. I know I have to place them in the ram slots on my mobo but do I have to turn off my pc and disconnect everything or can I just slap em in there and be all good?

There's no guarantee even if identical modules they will be compatible , you won't no till you try it.

Just power down the PC, also best to turn off or disconnect the power supply.
Make sure you line up the notch correctly (not backwards) and they should go right in without much force.
Once they are added the new memory should show up without you needing to do anything else.

If it boots , no guarantee it will be compatible , even when identical , hopefully it works for you.
