I'm planning a budget gaming build (I have a budget of around 500 dollars, maybe more) and I'm looking for a motherboard that has support for an AMD FX processor (4300), a PCIe slot (crossfire doesn't matter to me) and good build quality. I'm looking at a Gigabyte 970 gaming G1 board but that might be a little overkill.

What do you guys suggest?

Solution
LGA1151 H110/B150/B250

i3 6100 / 7100 (on budget)

8 GB 288-pin DDR4, don't waste too much on high frequencies, only a few frames difference there.

Dunlop is right about AMD. It's simply not worth it anymore, AM4 will likely be though!

What do you recommend for an intel motherboard then, and processor? Like what model of i3? Also looks like I'm upgrading to DDR4 cause all of Intel's motherboards that supports the LGA 1151 socket type uses DDR4 memory sticks.

Funny thing, I was looking for core i3 and on the first page I found an ASUS H110M-A board: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132854&cm_re=intel_core_i3-_-13-132-854-_-Product and recommended, a single stick of 8GB DDR4 2133 memory from G.SKILL Aegis for 49.99. Looks like I found my hardware :D

Not really looking to break the bank. If it can play games at decent frames, it's good enough for me. Hell my time with Skyrim proved you don't need a massive hulking machine and I played that with an nvidia GT 440 and Athlon II dual core processor. And 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM. Hell, even Ethan Carter Redux ran under those conditions, and pretty well too. At least I think it was DDR2. Narra5 boards are DDR2 right?

Anyway the point is, it worked. Even Cities worked until I started to mod it XD
