how to clear cmos

Unplug and turn off all power , hit the power button to discharge any remaining power. Then remove CMOS battery for a minute or two , then reinsert battery.

whoops i dont think i was clear in my post. my motherboard comes with the button to clear cmos. I know that you require to unplug psu when taking the battery out but i was curious whether the same procedure is needed when using the cmos button
