Hey guys,

So I've been gaming on this machine for well over a year and a half now, and suddenly none of my games run well at all. Rocket League has gone from steady 60 on high to struggling along at 4 on low settings, CSGO is chugging along at like 13, and Overwatch runs at like 20 fps. All of these used to run at 60 fps on this same machine, and the only thing that has changed is simply moving my computer home for the Christmas break. MSI afterburner shows I have low GPU and CPU usage, and none of them are even heating up... Both around 35 degrees C... Any thoughts? Also, changing the settings in Rocket League didn't change anything. Both high and low settings ran at 4-5 fps.

Solution
For multiplayer or games that need the internet, find out the speed of the internet connection and quality of the internet connection. Poor internet speed will heavily impact games that use the internet.

If you are back at the same place you used to get higher fps, let us know.

Also, bring up Windows Task Manager and check what programs are using a % of the CPU. To easily see this, under the Processes tab, click on CPU, that will show % of usage beginning with the highest %, you may have picked up a virus.

update drivers
delete everything in %temp%
end processes that you dont need in task manager, end task of any anti-viruses you have for while youre playing, if you have avast i would recommend uninstalling it and getting a different one
uninstall programs you dont use
make sure you dont have any browsers open while playing.
make sure you have high performance set on power options. windows key, search power options (control panel), then set to high performance
delete everything in recycle bin
last thing, download ccleaner from piriform and run it (both cleaner and registry things)
