Weird clicking noise on my headset on windows 8.1(tested on 7 and its ok there)

hello, i have a turtle beach p11 headset, which a anoying clicking noise on left ear on w8.1 that happened after i downloaded a portuguese translation for undertale from the portuguese site, tribo gamer. it may be a virus. i tested the game headset on my other notebook wih windows 7 ultimate, and the clicking noise is not happening there. any solutions for this?

Woah! I just happen to have the same headset as you o_o

It doesn't sound like your headset or a virus to me, but rather an issue with your integrated/external audio card (The audio controller in your PC). I would try and update the drivers for your specific audio controller. If you have your motherboard's model, google it and find out what audio card it uses. Simply find that model's drivers from (I'd assume) Realtek's website and install them. This should solve the issue.

Otherwise, it could be a bad headphone jack or that your headset is failing (These P11s are prone to wire damage and can cause that noise).

About the Undertale thing, if you are scared about a possible virus try downloading and installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This is a powerful anti-malware program. Run a full scan of your system. This should clear up everything clogging up your PC.

thanks for anwering ant. hahaha, yeah, i guess we both had good taste for headsets :D . you never had a problem with yours? well i will try to format my pc to see if it works. i tried everything i could, and no luck. windows update its not working either. my motherboard is a hp 358D (socket fs1).
