The i7 6700k stock is at 4.0 ghz and the i7 6700 non k is clocked at 3.4 but it turbo boosts up to 4.0 during gaming so i was wondering if this is literally the same thing as a stock i7 6700k? Does this mean that in gaming all 4 cores of the i7 6700 non k would be at 4.0 and does this mean i will get the same performance as a i7 6700k in stock? Assuming i don't overclock, is it completely pointless to get the k version? Does the k version offer anything better than the non k version for someone who doesn't overclock? Thanks in advance.

Solution
No. The 6700K is still clocked higher, stock speed is 4ghz with a turbo of up to 4.2ghz on one core. 6700k is clocked at 3.4ghz but turbos up to 4ghz on a single core.

However, the 6700 also has Intel vpro which the k sku doesn't have, but besides that, the 6700k is still better.
First off, modern games are not optimize to use multi-threadding, so if you decided on this based off gaming, stick with the i5. If you plan on doing some CPU intensive things, then I would go with the 6700K, but that would also depend on the motherboard as well. Honestly, if the difference is a few bucks, getting the K version would be wiser choice, overclocking or not. Trying to depend on turbo boost may not always work in many cases.
