What is SLI exactly used for?? I searched it a lot but can't understand. Can someone explain in easy language??

Thanks for reply....

Solution
Simplest way I can think of:
A single graphics card has to process every single frame by itself (no big deal).
In SLI you have 2 (or more, depending on the setup) cards. Card 1 renders frame 1, at the same time, card 2 renders frame 2, then card 1>frame 3, and card 2> frame 4.

Logically, this would give double performance.
Realistically its ~40-80% depending on the game.

You use 2 gpu's linked together to act like a single more powerful card. Games need to support it and the performance boost depends on how well the game works with sli, it can be anything from very little boost up to 80%. Where a single more powerful gpu can be bought it is always better to go with a single gpu instead of sli. Sli does have some downsides.
