Hi,

I want to get into Motion Graphics professionally and I'm looking to invest in my first workstation but i would like to be able to play new demanding games as they come out as well. The programs i am running the most and i want to optimize most for, are After Effects CC, Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC and Cinema 4D. I'm not savvy at all when it comes to hardware though so here i am!

My current setup is this:

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise
CPU: i5-4690K @ 3.50 GHz, 4 cores
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97-HD3
RAM: 12 GB
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB
HDD: 1TB WDC
PSU: CoolerMaster SilentProM 1000W

What i want to build is something like this:

x99 Platform
Help me decide between:
Gigabyte Motherboard X99-UD4 (Χ99/2011-3/DDR4) - 282€
MSI Motherboard X99A Raider (Χ99/2011-3/DDR4) - 262€

CPU Intel Core i7 6800k 2011-3/3.40GHz

32GB RAM
Should i buy 2x16GB or 4x8GB sticks? Does it make a difference?
Is Corsair Desktop RAM Vengeance 32GB Kit 2400MHz DDR4 going to work okay?

GTX 1060 GPU
What are the differences between
MSI VGA GeForce GTX 1060 Armor OCV1 6GB
MSI VGA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB

250gb SSD
Can you suggest some options?

As far as PSU and HDD go, i'm thinking of keeping the ones i already have.

Thanks in advance and apologies if the topic is tiring for people but i'm pretty clueless when it comes to these stuff and i need all the help i can get.

Cheers!

looking at your build from a pc part picker web site perspective 2 things came up right away

1. cpu does not come with a cooler (why I put it on list)
2. Some Intel X99 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Broadwell-E CPUs.
this is rather important to check as if you order online and get a board that is "older" the bios will not be on it,
and you wont be able to run that I7 chosen. (not even to get it to bios to be updated....)

Here is your set up with the choices taken from your list of items

CPU: Intel Core i7-6800K 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor (£413.68 @ More Computers)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM...

Go for the MSI motherboard. MSI is high quality and cheap too. 16gb of ram is enough, 32gb is more of a luxury. The ram you picked should do fine. The gaming x has more clock speed than the armor OCV1 and one more display port but one less HDMI port.
