have:
- Lenovo Flex PC with Windows 10, latest OS rev installed
- LG slim portable external DVD Writer, USB, model GP60NB50 (connect to USB 3.0 port)

Trying to copy family video DVDs over to my harddrive
Files are mostly .VOB files
doing drag and drop to move them over
some of the files move without issue in a matter of minutes
others start fine than basically go to a crawl and take hours to transfer
these "slow movers" all have corruption at the point where they slow down
have confirmed that the file son the DVD itself play fine
the DVDs look like they are in perfect condition (no scratches)

So, where could the problems be?
should I get a better DVD device?
use some sw app in place of drag & drop?
both?

Thanks!

Video DVDs don't really copy straight over very well. It's better to "rip" them to other formats using a separate program. From what I've read, Handbrake is a popular program for that, and is available free.
