Dell motherboard fan error?

So I'm using a Dell 537 SFF Mobo , and have ran into a issue when booting up. SYS Fan error.

I did change the fan but to a better cooler to handle the CPU upgrade I did(the small heatsink can't handle my Core 2 Extreme QX6700 :p)I don't know where I put the original fan either.

Is there some way to bypass this? I'm not sure I can replace the fan in my heatsink with a Dell one.

Solution
If the fan works, the cpu fan error is a result of the fan not rotating at a rpm that's specified in the bios. For example, when I load optimized defaults in my motherboard, I get the cpu fan error even though the cpu fan works fine. This is because the cpu fan operates at a lower rpm when not under load which is a lower rpm than the minimum rpm specified in the bios. My bios shows me what the actual rpm is. To fix this, raise the minimum rpm setting in the bios to match the cpu fan's actual minimum rpm.
Dell typically uses high quality industrial fans for reliability reasons. JY705 looks like the fan you need. The Dell fan error message not only can't be disabled, but usually needs to be cleared from the SYSLOG in the BIOS even after the fan is repaired. I would suggest using the Dell fan with your new cooler. BTW Throttlestop software can unlock that QX6700 multiplier for you. Heatsinks on the VRM MOSFETs usually help too.

seems a bit complicated but if other methods are out ill try it, thanks!

I don't have the initial fan, it was fine though. I just needed a better cooling system.

Ah okay, I see if I can get that fan and fit it in my current heatsink.Thank you!

hm Ill see if that works, Thanks
